Kudzu - a prolific* climbing, woody, perennial vine,(Pueraria lobata); native to southern Japan and introduced into the U. S. in 1876 at the Philadelphia Centennial Exposition and the rest is agricultural history! What no one counted on was the kudzu taking over the South like Sherman and the Union soldiers! Kudzu is known to grow 12 inches a day. And it attaches itself to everything! Like a velvety green blanket it covers the hillsides, ditches, barns, and anything else in its path.
(* Note the word prolific! This is what I desire in my knitting! I desire to be a prolific knitter!)
