The End of an Era!

Memories!

My first wings!

Long ago, in a galaxy far, far away...I was a flight attendant for an airline based in the South. This airline had very modest beginnings...from the crop duster fighting against the evil boll weevil to flying Ford Trimotors and then jumbo jets winging to international destinations. It was a wonderful company to work for and we were proud to wear their wings. We were a family! We were THE airline run by professionals! I clipped my wings years ago but I still have fond memories of the people I worked with and the places I visited.

After I left the ranks, new management came in. This management wasn't interested in continuing the "family" style of management. No, these good ole boys were too big for their britches. They only cared about the bottom line. Corporate greed, golden parachutes
overtook the minds of men who shouldn't have been in charge. For years they ate away the foundation and heart a gentle Southern giant. And, now what was once great company fades into shadowy memories of better times. A merger. The death of a once great airline. May she rest in peace!
