Boomer!
My son, Boomer, is a real movie buff! He likes all types of movies, old or new, black & white or color. My goodness, at 20 years of age, he will even tolerate and sometimes enjoy a real chick flick! So, it wasn't unusual for him to decide to take in a movie on Sunday afternoon. His choice, based on the trailers, was The Happening. He was quite excited to see an M. Night Shyamalan movie and most especially to see Zooey Deschannel and Mark Wahlberg. Boomer has great insight and he is quite witty so I was anxious to get his review of the movie.
The much anticipated review came via cellphone...oh how I wish I had seen his face because his review sent me into instant laughter. "Mom, if I were allergic to lame I would have gone into anaphylactic shock!" I had to work hard to control my laughter in order to pass the quote on to my husband. Boomer could easily have said that the movie was a stinker but instead he succinctly gave me a graphic description which let me know that I need not waste my money on this movie. He was also seriously disgusted by the "tree hugging, global warming, we are doomed message of political correctness" that was the basis for the film. (I am so proud of my conservative son!) So sorry Mr. Shyamalan...I will be missing another one of your twisted movies!
