KAL Day # 3

Well, as I look at this picture it appears that little progress has been made! Honestly, I am into the rows for Day # 3 of this knit-a-long. I am sure that the rows for Day # 4 will be posted shortly and I think the "mystery" of the picture might be more clear.

Other than this I am planning a birthday box for my 1st born. It is hard to believe that my precious Goober Girl will be 22. It just chokes me up. She is a grown up girl, on her own, gainfully employed! How can that be when her infancy is so clear in my mind. Before I get really maudlin, I am having a lot of fun gathering bits and pieces of things for her special day. And, I am trying to time the sending of the package so that it arrives the day before her birthday. If the package arrives any earlier she will open it and will have no treats for her birthday. She is a naughty girl to want to open everything before its time! ( I know you will read this. A mother knows these things!!)

Hope your day is filled with God's blessings!

Knit-A-Long

KAL

Well, despite a sore thumb I am determined to knit. Sounds like an addiction! This a KAL from Rachel's Knitting Room which is a yahoo group. This group is a lot fun and they are very friendly. I am using Peaches 'n Creme in Yellow because it was suggested that we use a bright summer color. I did alter the borders. Instead of doing K1, P1 I am doing straight knitting! This is easier on my right thumb! These KAL's are always fun because each day's rows will reveal a new piece of the "picture." I know this one will be great fun!
Blessings,

KAL's & Distractions!

KAL # 1

KAL # 2

I have been been distracted over the past few days by my husband's absence. He and 6 others from our church are on a mission to trip to Brazil. It has just been hard to concentrate on the routine things. I did manage to finish the Mid-June KAL from the Monthly Dishcloth Yahoo Group. It was a very pleasurable knit!

The second KAL is from Rachel's Knitting Room, another Yahoo Group. I am behind on it because I failed to purchase ink for our home printer. So, I will work to finish the last 2 days of rows. This was a very intriguing knit because there is a message in the cloth...a cryptic message! I don't think it will show up very well on my cloth. I opted to use Cotton Tots which is a very soft yarn. It is a nice yarn to use but images do not show up well when using it.

Maybe I will be able to finish cloth # 2 tonight and get a little bit of reading done as well. The mission trip will end in a couple of days and normalcy will return to our home!

Dishcloth Knit-A-Long

Day 1 -
Cast on
41 Stitches!

Day 1
and
Day 2

Ready for Day # 3!

I belong to one of the many Dishcloth Yahoo Groups! I love to knit the dishcloths because they are portable projects, usually quick and easy, and it gives me a supply of gifts to give out if I am in a pinch. The other benefit to the dishcloths is that often techniques and stitch patterns are used that I have not tried before. This gives me ample opportunity to practice. And, if I am not happy with the outcome I can "frog" it and do something else. This is my progress so far. As you can see I have the rows for day # 3 and I am waiting for a break at work so I can work on it.

Hope you are having a blessed day!
